Adoption
At Adelaide Pets Alive! our homeless pets are cared for in foster homes where they receive individualised love, care and treatment. We believe that foster care plays a significant role in supporting a homeless pets health, behaviour and overall welfare.
All our pets are desexed, microchipped and vaccinated.
The pet profiles focus on the attributes and needs of the pet, rather than guessing future behaviour or breed mixes which hold little value in matching you with your next companion.
Trial to Adoption
A trial period lasts up to one month. During this time, the pet remains the property of Adelaide Pets Alive! and we expect that you will send our team updates and photos of the animal.
When both parties are comfortable and the animal is a good fit for you, you can sign the Adoption Agreement and the ownership will be transferred.
Foster Care
Fostering is taking care of an animal in your own home.
You can care for an animal of your choice and our team will support you during your foster experience.
Fostering offers the animal the opportunity of positive social interactions, increased physical freedom, it reduces stress, it supports natural behaviours and their wellbeing. Fostering allows for better behaviour assessment, and this gives us information about what home would suit the animal.
You do not need to be experienced at animal fostering, just apply by filling out a foster care application.
Our team will need to discuss the Foster Agreement, expectations and requirements. Once both parties understand and agree to the terms of foster care, you can start your foster care experience!
